"Sit tall in the saddle, Hold your head up high
Keep your eyes fixed where the trail meets the sky
And live like you ain't afraid to die
And don't be scared, just enjoy your ride"

Lacy's top 10 most memorable events of 2008...

1- Mark fell off of his horse while roping and broke his femur. He was out of work and on crutches for 2 months!

2- He was back on his horse after 2 and a half months- it brought tears to my eyes! (I'm so proud of you honey, you're the "tuff"EST cowboy I know!!!)

3- I learned to do many things while he was recovering but the "coolest" was to hook up/ un-hook and back into place the horse trailer! (YIPPEE)

4- Tristen learned to ride Rascal all by himself!

5- I spoke in sacrament meeting. (I'm brave)

6- Kort started pre-school! (I kind of hate this one)

7- Our horse Rebel was kicked by another horse and broke his leg. We had to say goodbye and bury him in our pasture. We love and miss you Rebel and can't wait to ride you in heaven!

8- I stayed home all by myself with the kids while Mark hunted in Utah. (I'm SUPER brave!)

9- Turbo (the dog) had a near death experience while we visited grandma in St. George in September. (He's only 12yrs old, we're not ready to say goodbye!)

10- The birth of our precious baby Ross!

I can't wait to see what 2009 will bring! Happy New Year everyone!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!

We hope you all had as much fun as we did!
If you're wondering why Mark isn't in his pajamas... he had to make an 8am run to Maverik to purchase the last package of batteries. Way to go Santa!!!

This Star Wars hut was a big hit!!! Thanks Grandpa Ray!

Giggle Goggles are also a favorite item (Tristen thinks he is invisible when he wears them- please don't tell him otherwise!)

I don't think baby Ross "fully" appreciates the item Santa brought him yet. We'll give him some time....

Grandpa Ross...

I have had a lot of people ask if baby Ross is named after anyone and the answer is YES and it's not just ANYONE! Thank you grandpa Ross for giving little Ross a good solid name and wonderful example to live up to! We love you!
And we love gramma Della just as much- isn't this the cutest picture?

Aren't we blessed?

this was the sunset out my front door the other night- WOW!

Happy 3rd Birthday Tristen!

The day FINALLY arrived and we were SO excited!
Tristen asked for a "Mickey Mouse" cake along with his "tail". (I made him a tail which we now know he wanted because it makes him "jump higher" when he wears it!) -SUPER CUTE!!!
He opened his Star Wars movie first (big mistake!) He lost all interest in the rest of the presents and made his big brother open them. Whatever.

I can't believe my little guy turned "3"!...

Looking back with a SMILE!...

We love you more than life little Tristy!

You want what???!!!...

So my cute little Tristen will be celebrating his 3yr old birthday in two weeks... we have been asking him what he would like for his birthday, and he would respond, "I don't know yet"....
I have waited patiently but am running out of time to be able to "order" anything online since we don't have any toy stores here. So last night I asked him again.... what would you like for your birthday?
he says, "a tail."
WHAT???!!!...
he says, "I want my very own tail like Mickey Mouse."
Any ideas as to what I do about this???

We did it!!!

We made it through the first week with new little Ross... What an angel baby! (I'm still holding my breath but it is possible that not EVERY baby will have colic?) I'm VERY happy to announce that big brother Tristen FINALLY decided that he wanted to hold little Ross! It took a few days of convincing but now he's hooked!

We've had quite a few "melt downs" by both big brothers so we make sure the "holding and kissing" are equally distributed!

Kort has been a REALLY big help and has been officially named "the baby checker". He gives me minute by minute reports as to what Ross is doing at all times. Who needs a baby monitor when you have a four year old?

I am so lucky that my mom and dad have been here the whole week to help us adjust to being a family of five! My mom did ALL of the cooking and cleaning and taking care of children so I could rest... What would I ever do without her? Thanks mom and dad! I love you both so much!!!

he was born on Friday, Nov 7th, 2008 at 7:31pm
(after a long day of labor and hard work by mom) oh, and dad.

We are so excited to finally get to meet our new brother! We can't wait to play with him and for mom to be off of the couch!

On our way to trick-or-treating.......

Presenting my little clone trooper and Jengo Fett....... Oh, ...and the great pumpkin!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

The boys have been waiting and preparing for this day for over two months now- we are sure glad it's finally here!Thank you daddy for taking care of the whole "pumpkin thing"!

We were so excited to carve pumpkins until we realized that daddy expected us to clean the "guts" out of our own pumpkins....

"you want me to stick my hand in there?"
NO WAY!!!

Kort was really excited when he got to wear his costume to preschool and then found out that Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader went to his same school!

Kort's first day at "school"!!!

Kortlen FINALLY got to start preschool this week! YEAH HOO!!! (He missed the whole first month since we were in St. George.) I don't know if he was more excited for school or to get to wear his new Star Wars back-pack... I was nervous that he would be scared because this is his first year to go to school and he has always stayed home with me... Thankfully this wasn't an issue! He woke up that morning and said, "mom, you're probably going to miss me while I'm at school today, but you and Tristen can't come... You guys have to stay home and get your work done." My little boy is growing up (sigh.)

We welcome winter early with our "happy faces" on!

The kids were so excited to play in the snow they could hardly stand it! (Forgive them, they are young and don't know better yet!)
Doesn't this look fun???
This was day one of the storm... it snowed for atleast 24 hours longer and we ended up with about 5 inches or so... We love Star Valley!!!

Great Job Tristen!

We are so excited to announce that our big boy Tristen Colt is no longer wearing "stinky" diapers!!! Big thanks goes out to activia yogurt for keeping his poop soft and regular (sorry for the mommy talk) and for his Elmo potty's encouraging high fives! Now we get to have one diaper free month at the Hilton house before our little baby arrives! YIPPEE!!!

Thank You...

We have been home from St. George for a week now and wanted to thank all of the family that made our vacation so fun and exciting! Biggest thanks to mom and dad (who wasn't there for the picture that day, sorry.) We had a blast and loved being able to hang out with you! I'm sorry that Turbo puked all over your carpet and I promise I will reimburse you for the cleaning!

Thanks to Bailey, Tayler & little Madison for putting up with the wild boys!

We love being able to spend time with Grandpa Ross and Grandma Della... Thanks for lunch at Olive Garden and letting the boys pick a bear from your "shelf", they both sleep with them every night!

And thanks to Shelby and baby Ellie for letting us come to dinner. And especially to Tyson for giving my boys a "role model" to look up to! Someday they want their own video games like you! We love you all very much and will miss you until the next visit!

Mark's Utah elk bow hunt...

No elk... and that's all he has to say about that...
